Diamond Cole

Miss Diamond Cole attended St. Joseph’s Teachers’ College from 2013 to 2017. She served the institution’s student body faithfully as President of the Student Union during her third year of study. Upon leaving college she did not go directly into the classroom but worked as an Assistant Trainer at Advantage Communications in the BPO Sector.

Miss Cole could not resist her true calling, having graduated from St. Joseph’s with honours in her field. She migrated to the United States and taught at the Seaton Home Study School in Virginia in the United States. In September 2018, however, she moved to Asia and taught at the Longxin Foreign Language School in Daquin, China. Miss Cole still teaches in China, but now serves at the Dongguan Hanlin Experimental School. In 2021 she was given the Excellent Teacher Award for her outstanding contribution to the institution. Miss Cole is the Communications Director and Managing Editor for the school’s newspaper known as “Hanlin’s World”, and also serves as one of the writers of the school’s curriculum.  Miss Cole is also in the process of completing her graduate degree.

Kadeana Swaby

Miss Kadeana graduated from St. Joseph’s Teachers’ College in 2016. She has been teaching for fourteen years, 8 of which she spent honing her craft as a pretrained teacher and 6 as a trained teacher. Kadeana, as an educator, fearlessly ventured to pursue new experience in the United States where she is now a 2nd grade teacher. This unique opportunity has opened many doors for the young talented educator, one of which, she saw her being recognized as Teacher of the Year for 2021-2022. She recently earned a Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction. Kadeana has dedicated her service to the field of education and continues to bloom where she is planted

Mrs. Adriana Givans

Mrs. Givans has been an educator for the last 32 years. She studied at the St. Joseph’s Teachers’ College, where she graduated with a Trained Teacher’s Diploma in Primary Education.   She taught at the Portmore Missionary Preparatory and Kindergarten School for five years and nine months and remained in the classroom at Naggo Head Primary School from 1997 to 2016.  Since then, she has been serving as the Principal of the Naggo Head Primary School.

Today, Mrs. Givans holds a Masters Degree in School Administration and Supervision.  She has also completed several courses at the National College for Educational Leadership including, The Effective Principals’ Training Programme, Virtual Instructional Leadership, and Creating a Child-Friendly School. She also serves on several prolific bodies including the Jamaica Education Transformation Commission, where she served as a consultant.
