Programme Overview

The Bachelor of Education in Secondary Education targets individuals who want to teach at the secondary‑school level in a chosen specialization. The programme provides strong pedagogical training, subject‑specific instructional strategies, adolescent‑learning theory, and assessment methods. Graduates are equipped to teach their specialization area, manage diverse classrooms, integrate technology, and design engaging learning experiences. Upon completion, they are qualified for trained‑teacher positions in secondary schools.

B.Ed. Secondary Education (Mathematics)

  • Mathematics: CSEC Grade I–II, GCE A–B, or CAPE Unit 1 Grade I–V
  • English Language: CSEC I–III or GCE A–C
  • 3 other academic subjects

B.Ed. Secondary Education (Biology)

  • Biology: CSEC 1–2, GCE A–B, or CAPE Unit 1 Grade I–V
  • Chemistry OR Physics OR Integrated Science: Grade 1–2
  • English Language & Mathematics
  • 1 additional academic subject

  • Original Birth Certificate
  • Original Academic Certificates (CAPE/CSEC/GCE)
  • Tax Registration Number
  • Marriage Certificate (if applicable)
  • Two professional reference letters
  • One passport‑sized photograph
