Sixth Form Pathways Programme
Overview
The Ministry of Education and Youth (MoEY) has been implementing what is referred to as the K – 13 Strategy in an effort to ensure that all Jamaican learners have access to education from the early childhood to secondary levels of the education system.
The Sixth-Form Pathways Programme is a part of the Ministry’s implementation of a seven-year high-school programme. It allows for students who complete grade 11 to enroll in the programme and pursue a two-year course of study with alternative opportunities alongside the traditional sixth-form curriculum.
The St. Joseph’s Teachers’ College is one of the partner institutions to deliver the Sixth Form Pathway Programme (SFPP) beginning September 2021. At present, approval is granted to offer Pathway 1 only.
Eligibility

Students who are coming from a high school who meet the following criteria are eligible to be enrolled in the SFPP:
• Completed Grade 11.
• Between the ages of 16 to 18 years (i.e. a student aged 16, 17 or 18 on August 31 of any school year, or who will attain that age by December 31 in the year of admission).
• Fulfills the matriculation criteria for the selected course of study.
